I've lived in the North East for 14 years now and have discovered some great photo locations, from quiet beaches to impressive castles; from modern artworks to Roman forts. There are also plenty of places I'd still like to visit, some well-known, but many hidden gems as well.

Piano-Oke photoshoot

I've just done a photo shoot for musician Mark Deeks. He's having a new website built and needed some specific shots to showcase aspects of his work. His current website at shows the range of services that he offers - from piano lessons and musical arrangements to wedding services and accompaniments.

One of the services Mark offers is Piano-Oke parties where groups of friends get to do karaoke with live accompaniment! We needed to get a few shots to capture the atm...

The Second Week of the Soap

Back in August, my friend - celebrated poet Fiona Ritchie Walker - asked me to shoot a cover photo for her latest book, The Second Week of the Soap. It was great fun doing the shoot, especially as the best type of soap turned out to be coal tar which brought back happy childhood memories of staying at my Gran's house.

Red Squirrel Press are holding a launch for Fiona's book, along with the debut pamphlet from Matthew Griffiths, How to be Late.

The Capability Partnership
