Book Launch Photoshoot

Last night I was at the wonderful Lit and Phil library in Newcastle for the launch of Fiona Ritchie Walker's latest poetry book, The Second Week of the Soap. Fiona had a asked me to take a few photos of proceedings which was great fun, especially as there were so many friends and former colleagues from Traidcraft there. Here are a few of the pictures:

The Second Week of the Soap

Back in August, my friend - celebrated poet Fiona Ritchie Walker - asked me to shoot a cover photo for her latest book, The Second Week of the Soap. It was great fun doing the shoot, especially as the best type of soap turned out to be coal tar which brought back happy childhood memories of staying at my Gran's house.

Red Squirrel Press are holding a launch for Fiona's book, along with the debut pamphlet from Matthew Griffiths, How to be Late.

Just My Type: A book about fonts by Simon Garfield

This was a Christmas present from my Mum and Dad who are obviously well aware of my geeky tendencies. It's actually a lot less geeky than it sounds, though, and would appeal to anyone who has an interest in design and an eye for stylish (or ugly) type and what it says about us.
