100 Cameras in 1 (69p)
100 Cameras in 1 on the web

One of the most impressive things about this app is the gorgeous user interface - it really is a pleasure to use and feels very different to lots of run-of-the-mill iPhoneography apps. It essentially offers 100 different quirkily-named filters / textures presented in themed packages ('Longing people' and 'Fantastic landscape' for example). It does, as the developer intended, all feel very poetic.

The beauty of this app is that you can layer effects to build up a unique look for your photo. You can also control the amount of your chosen effect using the slider. There is also the ability to star your favourite effects which is very handy for finding them quickly again.

As this app is simply a filter package, it doesn't offer other editing tools such as exposure control, rotate, flip, contrast etc. For this reason, I prefer not to use the built-in camera, but instead use the native iPhone camera and do a preliminary edit in Photoshop before importing to 100 Cameras in 1 for filters and textures. The only slight annoyance is that photos have to cropped into a square format.

You can export to a whole range of different social networks and apps including:
  • Email photo
  • Save to camera roll
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Flickr
  • Smugmug
  • Dropbox
  • Instagram
  • Shnap
  • MagicHour
  • Downloads
  • Evernote
  • Dropbox
  • Camera+
You can also choose the resolution that you'd like to export / save the photo at. I have mine set to the highest resolution: 1536x1536.

Another unique feature of this app is the quirky Game Center achievements which add to the enjoyment of using it. You gain points and achievements for sharing on various platforms, exploring the menus, creating favourites and even saving photos during nighttime hours!

Verdict 5/5 - Some beautiful effects, a gorgeous UI, great sharing capabilities and fun Game Center achievements make this definitely one to buy.
